The List

So I haven't been able to go to a craft store since my last post so I havent really thought about posting. But then this morning I realized I've actually been working on a couple projects. I dont have pictures of them yet because they arent done.

But here is what I've been working on:

• Bridal Shower Invitation for my sister
• Wedding Photo montage for my sister
• Scrapbook pages
• Weight loss (well its technically not a craft but it is something I am working on)

Hopefully a trip to the craft store will be in the near future. Here is hoping for a weekend without fog!

Great Find and Herb Garden

So last night Scott and I were doing our weekly grocery shopping and I decided to see what was left from Valentines stuff. I found a great deal! These cute little buckets were only 37 cents each...so I got 3! Not quite sure what I will do with them yet. Something simple like filling with candy next year or maybe putting a floral arrangement in them. Many possibilities!

Another thing we have been working on is a herb garden. We are growing cilantro, basil, and a couple other herbs I can't remember right now and the dog is asleep on my lap or I would go look. Anyways... heres our little garden as of today.

My list of crafts I want to do is growing longer everyday. Heres to gettin supplies and getting started soon!

Scapbook Pages

So I have found a TON of great ideas!! Thanks for help and Jonelle thanks for those two links! They lead me to a bunch of others and I found a lot of projects I will love to work on. Now I just need to find a craft store where I can get supplies! Until then I have been working on a couple scrapbooks. Here are a couple pages I have done so far for our wedding scrapbook. Let me know what you think!

Ideas?

I need some ideas of different crafts I could do. I am having a hard time thinking of things to do. Any ideas will be helpful. Until then I will keep on scrapbooking and baking :)

Another Recipe

ok so I promise that I will do more than just food...but lately I have been in the baking mood and have a great system down. I make the full recipe. Scott and I eat what we want that day and then I send the rest to work to give to his employees. It works out great because they get treats, and I am not home alone tempted all day with yummy treats that will hinder my weight loss goals.

So last night I made a Peach Crunch Cake. It was SO easy and so yummy! I got the recipe from a cooking blog I follow called Bakerella (http://www.bakerella.com).

Here is the recipe:

Peach Crunch Cake

24.5 oz jar of sliced peaches in light syrup
1 package yellow cake mix
1 stick butter (1/2 cup), cut into 16 pieces
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Layer ingredients in a 13 X 9 dish, in order starting with the peaches.
Bake for about 40 minutes.
Serve warm or cold… with or without ice cream.

Practice Makes Perfect....

or at least I hope so! Today I finally did it...I make cookies, frosting, and decided to try the decorating techniques that I should have learned in class a couple months ago.

Back in Utah...in November, I signed up for a fun decorating class with Laura and Connie. Well after one class where the teacher was late AND unprepared and two cancelled classes, the whole class was cancelled. Since I was moving out of state soon I never got to sign up for another one. Yes I'm still slightly ticked off about it....

Anyways, I still had all the tips, tools and instructional book so I've decided I will try to teach myself. The thing holding me back until now is that I am trying to lose weight right now and the last thing I need is cake tempting me all day while Scott (aka my diet monkey) is at work.

Well today I decided that I would make sugar cookies instead of cake or cupcakes. After making a huge mess and catching my oven mitt on fire, I think I have the star tip down! Next I think I will try more tips and maybe try on cupcakes at least :)

The mitt caught on fire because our stove is to almost to small to fit the cookie sheet in and my hand (luckily in the mitt) slipped and hit the hot coil on the bottom, causing the mitt to catch on fire and stink up the house. Ugh...

Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings

So my mother-in-law made this awesome dessert for us back when we lived in Arizona. If you know us we love mountain dew so we really love this dessert!

Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings
2 pkgs. Pillsbury crescent roll dough
2 Granny Smith Apples (peeled, cored & sliced) each apple slice into 8 pieces
2 cubes of butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can of mountain dew

Butter 9x13 pan. Roll 1 crescent roll dough around 1 sliced apple, (continue doing this until you have a total of 16 pieces) Place in pieces in your baking dish. Melt butter, sugar & vanilla, then pour over top of rolls. Pour 1 can of mountain dew around edge of pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 350 for 40 min. You can serve these with whipping cream or ice cream if you would like, enjoy!!
